Bahamian Money

Bahamian currency is an interesting topic for me now, but initially, I didn't even realize that it was. It wasn't until my mom's friend from Georgia came to the Bahamas on vacation that I really inspected the currency of the Bahamas. The unique aspects of colorful bulls and shapely coins was lost on me until I compared it to U. S. dollar bills which Bahamians see so often since the $1 Bahamian bill is equivalent to the $1 U. S. bill. Each bill has a different color that Bahamians like to use slang for in their dialect.

The $10 bill has recently undergone an update, which is why it looks different from the rest, but besides that, there is a common theme among the bills. Each has a significant person to Bahamian history on the front and an event or landmark on the back. With the coins, it's difficult to differentiate between head and tails because both sides are so unique. Whenever you decide to stop by the Bahamas, take some money with you. It's easily exchangeable downtown if you go to a local or just ask a store to give you Bahamian money in change. Take some coins as well. You won't regret it.
